    Deximon – Px eye ointment

     

    Deximon-PX Eye Ointment is a combination of three medicines. It is used in treating bacterial infections of the eyes. It kills the bacteria that cause infection. It also relieves pain, itching, discomfort, and irritation.

    Deximon-PX Eye Ointment is strictly advised to be used only in the eyes. Use it in the prescribed dose and duration. Apply it only to the affected eyes. You must wash your hand before administering the medicine. Do not use it more than the recommended dose. The medicine should not be stopped suddenly without a doctor's consultation.

    It is generally safe, but it may sometimes cause discomfort, irritation, and burning sensation in the eyes.  These effects are mild and go away in some time. However, if these effects persist, you should consult the doctor immediately.

    Deximon-PX Eye Ointment is used to treat bacterial infection of the eyes such as conjunctivitis or pink eye. It stops the growth of bacteria causing infection and helps relieve pain, swelling, redness, itching or irritation in the eyes. Use it 2-3 times a day for atleast a week or as prescribed by the doctor. Your symptoms might improve after using Deximon-PX Eye Ointment. However, make sure to complete the full course of treatment. This will ensure that the infection is completely cured and prevent it from returning.


    SIDE EFFECTS OF DEXIMON-PX EYE OINTMENT

    Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

    HOW TO USE DEXIMON-PX EYE OINTMENT

    This medicine is for external use only. Take it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the tube close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the tube and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid.


    HOW DEXIMON-PX EYE OINTMENT WORKS

    Deximon-PX Eye Ointment is a combination of two antibiotics (Chloramphenicol, Polymyxin B) and a steroid (Dexamethasone). The antibiotics work by killing the bacteria or stopping their growth. Together, they treat your eye infection effectively. The steroid blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye red, swollen and itchy.

    WHAT IF YOU FORGET TO TAKE DEXIMON-PX EYE OINTMENT?

    If you miss a dose of Deximon-PX Eye Ointment, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.


    Quick Tips

    • You have been prescribed Deximon-PX Eye Ointment for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye.
    • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
    • Do not use Deximon-PX Eye Ointment for more than the prescribed duration as it may cause glaucoma or secondary infection. 
    • Do not touch the tip to any surface, or to your eye, to avoid contamination.
    • Do not wear contact lenses until your infection clears up.
    • Throw away any medicine left at the end of the 5 day course.
